1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information when you use DavidSouri.com or interact with our services:

2. Transaction and Auction Information: lot submissions, melt requests, orders, shipping and billing details, auction membership, bid instructions (including private maximums), bid history, purchases, payments, and fulfillment records.
3. Account and Identity Information: email address, name, phone number, date of birth, business name, billing and shipping addresses, notification choices, consent history, and account or approval status. Authentication uses one-time links and codes; we do not collect passwords or security-question answers.
4. Site Usage Information: items viewed, calculator inputs, chart preferences, and settings stored in your browser’s local storage.
5. Usage Data: device info, browser info, IP address, and related data.

3. Use of DocuSign for Contract Signing and ID Verification

We utilize DocuSign to facilitate electronic signing of contracts and for ID verification purposes. When you use DocuSign in connection with our Services:

1. We may share your personal information (name, email, identifying details) with DocuSign to complete signing or verification.
2. DocuSign is responsible for its own privacy practices; review DocuSign’s Privacy Policy.
3. DocuSign employs industry-standard security measures.
4. We use DocuSign to streamline signing and ensure secure and verified transactions.

4. Information Sharing

We may share personal information with third parties under certain circumstances:

1. Service Providers: payment processing, email delivery, electronic signature and identity verification, shipping carriers (including FedEx for insured labels), insurance providers (IFS Inforsure Inc.), and customer support tools.
2. Optional Analytics: Google Analytics receives the limited usage data described below only when you allow analytics in this browser. This choice is separate from marketing subscriptions.
3. Legal Compliance: lawful requests and protection of rights, including compliance with OFAC regulations and applicable law.

5. Security and Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information. DavidSouri.com uses HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers. Information is retained as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy unless longer retention is required or permitted by law.

DavidSouri.com stores some preferences in your browser’s local storage. Account-linked settings may also be saved to our servers so they remain available when you sign in on another device.

Customer Accounts & Notifications

If you create an account, we collect the information you provide, which may include your email, name, phone number, date of birth, business name, billing and shipping addresses, and preferences. Authentication uses one-time links and codes sent to your email; we do not store passwords.

Messages we may send:

1. Required service emails — sign-in links and codes, security notices, account changes, transaction status and payment messages, private-auction access approvals, and, when you bid, outbid and winner notices. These messages do not have customer preference switches.
2. Auction participation email reminders — after you bid, closing-soon reminders are on by default so you can review your standing before the auction ends. You can turn these reminders off on Notifications or through their scoped unsubscribe link. This choice is independent of required outbid and winner notices and does not subscribe you to marketing.
3. Optional subscriptions — price alerts, new Private Auction listing emails, MGC Live updates, deals, market commentary, and new products. Choose each on Notifications or use the scoped unsubscribe link in the email. New-listing and marketing emails are off unless you opt in.

Optional device push: on Notifications, you can enable outbid and winner updates separately from email, and opt in to closing reminders (off by default). We store your browser subscription endpoint, encryption keys, device label, selected categories, and delivery status. Browser-operated push services transport encrypted messages. Lock-screen wording is general, and opening a notification still requires normal sign-in. Turn push off for any device on Notifications; signing out revokes push for that sign-in. Revocation erases its stored endpoint and encryption keys, but cannot recall a notification already handed to the browser’s push service.

Cookies and optional website analytics

We do not embed email-open tracking pixels or analytics click trackers in our emails. Necessary cookies support sign-in (aurora_sess) and referral invitations (referral_invite). Browser storage also preserves settings, drafts, and your privacy choices. These functions are separate from optional analytics. Our servers still process requests and retain operational, security and transaction records when analytics is off.

Your choice: optional analytics starts off. Allow analytics is optional; No thanks, ignoring the request, or Not now leaves it off. Using the site, signing in, signing the Customer Agreement, or accepting terms does not grant analytics consent. Declining does not prevent calculator use, selling or bidding.

If you allow optional analytics, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga to measure visits and selected actions, including calculator use, accepted sell requests and accepted bid instructions. Google receives browser/device information and network information, including the IP address used to deliver requests; this is not anonymous collection. Analytics cookies can distinguish repeat visits in the same browser. Analytics is not required to use the website. We do not enable Google signals or advertising personalization, and we do not use this integration for advertising audiences.

We do not include contact information, form text, calculator weights or values, private bid maximums, customer identifiers, or private link parameters in these events. Account and staff pages are excluded. Browser privacy signals (Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track) keep optional analytics off.

Use Privacy & choices here or in the site footer to change your choice. Allow and No thanks are saved in this browser without a scheduled expiration; they are not shared with your account or other devices. If you ignore or dismiss the prompt, we do not automatically show it again for 24 hours. Clearing site data, changing browsers or devices, or starting a new private-browsing session can reset these choices. If browser storage is unavailable, analytics stays off.

Turning analytics off stops future collection from updated pages and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies. It cannot recall requests already sent or erase data already received by Google. Open pages running an older site version may need to be reloaded. Your sign-in, drafts, transaction records, and email/push choices remain separate. If a browser privacy signal is enabled, analytics stays off even if you previously chose Allow.

Google processes analytics data under its own policies and may process it outside your country. See Google’s privacy policy. You can contact us about access or deletion requests; browser-local analytics choices are not part of your account consent history, and we do not send an account identifier to link analytics records to you.

Deleting your account: from Account settings you can request account deletion. We email you a confirmation containing a 30-day cancellation link. After that window, we delete the account profile and customer-controlled settings. We may retain records needed for completed or disputed transactions, accounting and tax, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, and audit purposes for as long as those purposes require.

Consent history: when you accept terms or grant or revoke a customer-controlled email choice, we record an entry in your consent ledger. You can review that history in Account settings and change your current email choices on Notifications.

1. Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
2. Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
3. Deletion — request that we delete your personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated policy and its effective date will be posted here on DavidSouri.com. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate. A new tracking purpose that needs consent will require a new choice; an existing website-analytics choice is not permission for unrelated tracking.
